In most parts of our world, we are using a highly inefficient system to determine food shelf life. Because of the inability to monitor products, producers are forced to assume worst-case scenarios when setting expiry dates, why about 30% of the shelf life is lost and locked up in the system. As the concern for food quality and food safety is growing around the world, the trend among end consumers is leaning towards more conservative interpretations of expiry dates, which emphasizes the need for a systematic shift in shelf-life determination.

Our vision is to become the category leader within dynamic shelf life indication technologies, and to help producers, retailers and end consumers to drastically reduce food waste around the world. Our vision is essentially to make it possible for all of us to consume the food we produce, and by doing so, to create a sustainable food system.

SAVEGGY

Globally, about 45% of fruits and vegetables get wasted. Extension of shelf-life reduces carbon emissions and pollutions, increases the energy saving, educes inventory and ensures more food reaches consumers. To extend shelf life, primarily, plastic wrapping is used that will be eliminated with our solution. Our bio-based edible vegan coating extends the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables which is easily applied on the selected ones by using dipping or spraying methods after harvest.
