Krinova Incubator & Science Park and Livsmedelsakademin join Foodtech Innovation Network to strengthen long-term development

Publicerad: 17 december, 2025 av Stephanie Lilja |

Foodtech Innovation Network continues to grow and welcomes Livsmedelsakademin and Krinova Incubator & Science Park as new partners in the project. Together, the partners are taking a joint step toward building a long-term structure that ensures the continued development, quality and relevance of Foodtech Innovation Network.

Since its launch in 2019, Foodtech Innovation Network has been operated as an EU-funded project. The project period is now approaching its conclusion. Over the past years, the network has established itself as a key platform for Swedish foodtech, with more than 120 companies active in the community and three successfully delivered Foodtech Forum events bringing together innovators, investors and industry partners from across the country.

Region Skåne, as the regional development authority, has identified Livsmedelsakademin and Krinova Incubator & Science Park as particularly well suited to contribute to the long-term management and further development of Foodtech Innovation Network. By involving the new partners already at this stage, the project creates favourable conditions for a smooth transition to future responsibility, while also strengthening the initiative in the short term.

Both organisations will contribute expertise in communication, administration and company support, and their staff will be gradually integrated into the project’s ongoing work. The aim is to deepen the understanding of Foodtech Innovation Network’s activities, strengthen engagement with companies and ensure that the valuable community built over time can continue to grow while maintaining a high level of quality.

– We are very pleased to welcome Livsmedelsakademin and Krinova Incubator & Science Park to the project. Their expertise and commitment strengthen our joint efforts and represent an important step in securing the future development of Foodtech Innovation Network, says Eva Jilkén, Project Manager, Foodtech Innovation Network.

– We are delighted to join the project and look forward to working alongside the other partners to contribute to a strong and sustainable development of the Swedish foodtech ecosystem, says Evert Nilsson, Head of the Project Office, Krinova Incubator & Science Park.

– Becoming part of Foodtech Innovation Network enables us to support companies more closely while contributing to the long-term structure needed for innovation environments to continue to grow, says Cecilia Gannedahl, CEO, Livsmedelsakademin.

Open Tables: Conversations Shaping the Future of Food

Publicerad: 10 december, 2025 av Miriam Kiehn |

At Foodtech Forum 2025, the conversation didn’t stop at the stage – it continued around our Open Tables, hosted by our partner organizations.

From Krinova to Livsmedelsakademin and Biotech Heights, each table offered a unique opportunity to dive deep into the most pressing topics in foodtech:

  • Circular Food Production with Livsmedelsakademin
  • Innovating for Future Foods with Krinova
  • Test Environments with Biotech Heights
  • Gastronomy to Scale Foodtech and Blue Food at our unmoderated tables

These interactive sessions allowed attendees to share ideas, explore solutions, and connect directly with experts and peers. The discussions were vibrant, insightful, and in many cases, continued long after the official session times – proving that the energy and creativity of the foodtech community knows no bounds.

Our Open Tables showed that the future of food is not just about listening – it’s about contributing, collaborating, and co-creating.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. The ideas and insights will bring our network event further!

Afterwork – Conversations, Mocktails, and Insights Shaping Swedish Foodtech

Publicerad: 10 december, 2025 av Miriam Kiehn |

The Foodtech Forum 2025 Afterwork, held from 17:00–19:00, closed the day with exactly the kind of energy our ecosystem thrives on: creative exchange, new connections, and a shared appetite for shaping the future of food. Co-organised by Invest in Skåne and the Foodtech Innovation Network, the afterwork brought together founders, industry leaders, researchers, and investors for a relaxed yet content-rich conclusion to the Forum.

Earlier in the day, the collaboration hosted a dedicated investor gathering featuring roundtable conversations followed by a brunch and mocktail tasting built on ingredients from Skåne-based startups. This session offered a forward-looking snapshot of the investment landscape in Swedish foodtech. Key insights included:

A strong moment for opportunity
High-quality food and agri-tech companies are emerging with more realistic valuations, clearer value propositions, and stronger alignment with industry needs — creating timely entry points for investors.

Innovation with real system pull
Regenerative agriculture, soil health, fermentation technologies, and hybrid proteins are gaining traction as market demand shifts toward solutions addressing concrete food-system challenges.

Ecosystems that accelerate progress
Universities, testbeds, and regional actors in Skåne are increasingly important in bridging R&D and commercial readiness, helping validate innovations and reduce risk for capital-intensive scaling.

These themes echoed throughout the afterwork as participants reconnected over our “future of food” mocktails, developed in collaboration with member companies. The drinks — inventive in both flavour and concept — were exceptionally well received and finished quickly. They created a natural focal point for discussion, and many of the afternoon’s Open Table conversations continued seamlessly into the evening.

The afterwork demonstrated a powerful truth: innovation does not only happen in formal sessions — it also happens in the informal spaces where ideas meet opportunity. Our thanks go to everyone who joined, contributed, and pushed the dialogue forward.
