Cheese production is tremendously resource-inefficient. For every kilogram of cheese produced, the cheesemaker must process 10 liters of milk. The reason for this is that cheese is effectively a milk concentrate, whereby liquids are removed, and milk protein and fat is concentrated and formed into a curd. Consider then the fact that around 45% of all milk produced globally is used for cheese production and the massive impact of cheese on the environment becomes obvious.

Cirkulär AB will be a new player in the value chain of the dairy industry, providing a complementary raw material for dairy processing – microbially produced milk proteins for a more resource-efficient industry. Cirkulär AB and similar companies will be the new producers of milk components for the production dairy products, which will ease the pressure of current milk production on the environment.

Lupinta

Lupinta produces tasty, healthy and environmentally friendly meat-substitutes based on locally farmed lupin beans. Lupin is a native European legume, high in plant-protein content, high in fibre and low in fat, that can be farmed in the Nordic countries, being a perfect alternative with a lower carbon footprint to both meat and imported soy-based options.

Vision

We want to position Lupin as the natural European alternative for imported soy. We want to create an industry around Lupin in Europe and cut down the importation of 32 million tons of soy annually to the EU.

Mossagården Eko

We want to accelerate the process of starting an organic hemp center at Mossagården in Veberöd and kick-start the large hemp factory for innovation and research; a future-proof, time-adapted and smart factory.

Our vision and mission is to work close to the university in collaborative environments and work for the advancement of hemp in harmony with Sweden’s organic farmers. Our ambition is for the organic hemp in Sweden to make the “big leap” and in this respect we want to take advantage of the capacity from the entire plant.

Our long-term ambition with Mossagården is to, with the help of healthy, nutritious quality products in the protein shift and also environmentally oriented services, climb the ”sustainability steps” and achieve the goal of serving people and connecting them to nature with the same keywords as the EU’s major investment: ”From farm to fork ”.
